Routes of Solidarity between Veneto and the Balkans
In the summer of 2024, we presented a series of interviews and a portrait exhibition titled "The Reasons We Leave", created as a result of research conducted in collaboration with ISCOS Veneto as part of the Routes of Solidarity between Veneto and the Balkans programme. The aim of the research was to compare the reasons for migration among people on the move passing through or residing in Bosnia and Herzegovina with those of BiH residents, to analyse their migration processes, explore the challenges they face, and examine the conditions they encounter upon reaching their destination country. The findings of this research were published in "Dodici storie di emigrazione sulla rotta Balcanica".

Mediterranean Hope - 2021/2023 - Day Centre in Bihać
Due to the difficult situation of people on the move in the Una-Sana Canton (northwest Bosnia and Herzegovina, bordering Croatia), Kompas opened a day centre in the outskirts of Bihać at the end of 2021, modeled after the existing centre in Sarajevo. Over the two years that the centre operated, in collaboration with Mediterranean Hope, we provided aid and support to both people on the move and vulnerable residents. This included distributing food, hygiene and clothing packages, firewood, and school supplies for pupils and students. In 2023, as the number of people on the move in the Una-Sana Canton decreased, we decided to close the day centre and redirect the remaining resources to the day centre in Sarajevo.
